Project Performance

A large portion of my practice is providing an advisory role for ongoing construction project issues. The goal may be to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Or it may be to position the client in dealing with a protracted or sticky problem. My approach is to achieve a cost-effective outcome, so that the project is completed and margins are maintained.

It is not possible to relate all the various scenarios that have been, or could be, covered in my work. Most client issues and concerns that I have addressed have been resolved without any formal dispute resolution process.

What makes advice on project performance cost-effective? A detailed understanding of the design and construction process, the normal roles and allocation of responsibility among industry participants, and the legal standards that come to bear even when specific issues are not fully addressed in the contracts.
